Hey Family!
This week was a whole lot better. I think I told
you about Scotty last week. He is a former investigator that we got back
in contact with. We called him last Monday and he told us to come on
over. He asked us a few questions about Joseph
Smith and the Church. He is really interested in learning about the
church. He was planning on making it to church yesterday but he had some
more health struggles come his way. Hopefully by next Sunday he will be feeling better.
We were able to go see Sister King and take her the
sacrament, Wes came with us and his friend Brenen ( who isn't a member)
he really likes to talk so he was really able to uplift Sister King’s
spirits. She showed us her new stuffed animals
that sing and move. After that we went with Brother Stram to visit Sister Bench. We brought Brother Stram because he knows everything about
electric wheel chairs and could give Sister Bench counsel on what she
needs to do to get herself with a functioning
wheel chair. Then we meet Sister Hart and Isaiah at the church and they
took us down to Little Falls. It was raining cats and dogs in Brainerd
but not so much in Little Falls. We had dinner with the Harts, Isaiah,
and his mom. Then we talked about our purpose
on earth in the plan of salvation. Isaiah seemed really distracted. It
was difficult to focus. At the end we sang I am a Child of God and it
brought the spirit really well. Hopefully Isaiah will remember that.
Wednesday
we went and saw the Kruta's. They showed the home video of when they
had their Caboose delivered and placed in the yard. They had some big
equipment putting it all into place. Brother Kruta's health has been
struggling as well.
After we visited with the Kruta's we went to the Bukers for dinner.
Brother and Sister Buker are both the Relief Society President and the
Elders quorum president. They are both newly called so we will be
getting to know them a lot better now. Then we went
to mutual and shared a message on the Title of Liberty and played a
game of capture the flag with them.
Thursday
we did service at the Food shelf like usual. We visited with the Window
Family. They are a part member family that live in Brainerd. They are a
really funny old couple. After the Windows we went up to Pine River and
gave a member
a blessing and had dinner with our (less active) Ward mission leader.
We had a short coordination meeting with him which is the first on I
have had with him since I have been here.
Friday we don't do a bunch of service. I was able to Mow a lawn! Woohoo. Saturday we did more service. We had a good turn out to church on Sunday. We are looking at a really busy week this week. We are traveling to Alexandria today to exchange
with those elders. We will come back Tuesday afternoon. Thursday we go to Elk River for a specialty training then we will go to St. Cloud for an exchange with our zone leaders then on Sunday we are going out to Pillager to visit some members of the ward out
there. Busy week!
