Hey Familia!

This past week has been super busy! On Monday we headed off to Alexandria, Minnesota which is about an hour and forty five minutes from here. We went to exchange with the Elders there. They whitewashed the area a couple weeks ago. The work there has been really slow. It is a pretty small ward. They are having issues finding new people to teach. One of the elders has served there previously so he already knew a lot of the members and investigators. It is always fun to see other missionaries. We live so far out that we only see other missionaries maybe once a month.

Tuesday afternoon we came back to Brainerd. Most of our appointments in the afternoon fell through. We met with Isaiah. He is still progressing really slowly. We taught the last part of the plan of salvation, resurrection, judgement, and the kingdoms of glory. I worry a lot about his retention, but in the same thought I think about the foundation we are laying for him to learn more. Progression in the gospel is precept by precept.

Wednesday we went and stopped by an inactive family. We go by and see them about once a week. They have a nephew (I believe that is the relation) that has been staying with them for a while. He is only 13 or 14 but he is having quite the run with the law. He was just put on house arrest. So what is great is that we can stop by that family anytime and there will always be the nephew and either the aunt or uncle! How convenient! So we will be bugging them a lot. Hopefully we will be able to get them out to church soon. I believe work is a conflict as well but things will work out.

Thursday we went to Elk River which is about 100 miles from our front door. We had a zone training with President Forbes! He trained on priesthood, temples, and women. Really intriguing. We also received great trainings on creating an environment where investigators can feel the spirit and finding.  After Zone Training we blitzed with our zone leaders in St. Cloud. Which is about 40 miles back towards Brainerd. We had a lot of fun spending time with them and doing missionary work.

We came back up here Friday afternoon and stopped on the way at the Harts to teach Isaiah. We taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and we're able to set a date for August 17th! Really exciting.

Saturday was super hot! We went up to Legionville to help one of the boys in the ward with his eagle project. We planted 1200 trees from 10-3. Me and Elder Patrick probably planted about 500 of them. In the evening we went and taught Samantha. She dropped us. She met someone online about a week ago and from what she said she does not want to live the standards of the church. She is also very dishonest so we don't even know if she was interested in the first place.

Sunday Scotty came to church! We arranged for a member to give him a ride. The member couldn't find it. So when the member pulled into the parking lot without Scotty I told Elder Patrick to find a Melchizedek priesthood holder and I booked it to this members car and we went and got Scotty! We made it back just in time. We also went out to Pillager and visited with a few members out there. Then we had dinner with the former bishop and his wife. The scouts out here just left for camp today as well. Everyone is camping but us. We got work to do.
